Install Agent Control, connect the assistant you use in your browser, then check that it can read the page you chose. If your connection is already active, go straight to your first draft.
You need permission to install a plugin, WordPress 6.9 or later, PHP 8.1 or later, and an assistant account that allows this connection. Ask your site administrator to confirm your installation rights and check the versions in WordPress Site Health. Keep your usual site backup.
Use your own compatible AI account. Custom connections depend on your provider, plan and workspace permissions. Agent Control does not include an AI subscription.
ChatGPT's documented web access requires Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education. Claude custom-connector availability and organization permissions depend on the account. Check the linked provider instructions, reviewed on September 7, 2026.
With your trial or license
Use the download supplied with your Agent Control trial or license. The ZIP is the plugin file: keep it compressed. If you cannot find it, contact customer support with your purchase details, without sending a license key.

In WordPress
In Plugins, choose Add Plugin, then Upload Plugin. Select the ZIP, install it and activate it. If you cannot install plugins, ask your site administrator to do this step.

Open Agent Control and follow any license activation instructions shown there. Obtaining a ZIP and activating a license are separate steps. Check the displayed plan before choosing a task.

Open Agent Control, choose Claude or ChatGPT, and follow the connection setup. If it requests the connection component, have an administrator install or activate it. Keep an incompatible existing component for review. Copy the address displayed by the plugin; do not reconstruct it.

Claude
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address prepared in WordPress. In a managed workspace, its owner may need to add it first. Follow the authorization flow, then enable the connector for the conversation.

Check the WordPress domain and the connection shown in the authorization window before confirming. Return to Agent Control to check its state. Never send your WordPress password in a conversation.

Use ChatGPT in your browser. Enable Developer mode in Settings, Security and login, then open Plugins and use the plus button to create an app for your MCP server. Select OAuth and the server's supported registration method, complete WordPress authorization, then select the app for the conversation. If these controls are unavailable, check your account and workspace permissions.

In your assistant
Use my Agent Control connection to examine the public homepage of the connected WordPress site. Identify the site and page you consulted, then summarize its content without changing anything.
Check the connector action shown by your assistant and the returned site and page. A plausible text answer alone does not show that the connection was used.
Create my first draftThe guided private folder for Claude Code or Codex uses WordPress REST and an Application Password with a dedicated read-only profile. Existing Read Only, Draft, Content Editor and Publisher profiles remain under Advanced. They are not automatically converted to OAuth and do not inherit the remote task and exact-approval model.
Full Power Access is a separately licensed administrative add-on. It is outside the guided task model, outside the protected REST modes, and is not included in Solo, Pro or Agency. It is not required for ordinary questions or drafts.
